Description
I've seen you there
amongst the lavender fields
when you thought no one was watching.
Memories that dance
a longing daydream,
weaving strings of lilac through my veins.
--- Beau Gray
Lavender is a perennial plant which is recognizable for its beautiful fragrance. This plant grows in the warm places with high temperatures. Since ancient times a lavender flower has been known for its lovely scent and healing properties. Lavender is in the mint family and originated in the Mediterranean.
Flowers from the lavender plant have a special meaning. When given as a gift, lavender flowers represent purity and luck. Lavender flowers also convey a message of hidden devotion. Lavender bundles are hung upside down to preserve the shape of the blossoms and to prevent them from falling off as they dry.
This digital work of art was created using a palette knife and watercolor techniques. Watermark will not appear on purchased image.

A beautiful backstory to these lovely lavender flowers. Makes me think of the song, “Lavender Blue” from the 1949 Disney film, So Dear To My Heart, sung by Burl Ives. It also was sung in 2015 Disney Cinderella film. Simply gorgeous my dear lady! Purplelicous. Liked and faved. 💕Janet

Thank you SO very much for your lovely, kind words about my art, and the little story about the song. I had actually forgotten about that! LOL Thank you again!

What a beautiful creation you've made, my dear friend Jane! It brings back wonderful memories of the scent wafting on the breeze over the fields of lavender near Sequim. V/F
