Description
Fit for a royal luau, king protea and bird of paradise flowers create a lovely tropical flower arrangement that also features large, beautiful monstera leaves.
While neither of these flowers are native to Hawaii, they have long been used in arrangements and centerpieces especially at resorts and luaus. Bird of paradise plants are widely grown throughout the islands. Originally from South America, Protea are found at the higher elevations, especially in the upountry Kula area on Maui. It is not unusual for a king protea blossom to be as large as a dinner plate, with a thick, woody stem.
This digital work of art was created using a combination of watercolor and dry brush methods. Watermark will not appear on purchased image.
