Giving a lei is a way to honor friendship, show love or to recognize an accomplishment. A lei is a cherished symbol of the spirit of Aloha. It is also a way to make someone feel welcome. Floral leis are a traditional part of the Hawaiian culture dating back centuries. Some of the most common leis are plumeria, tuberose, ginger and orchid, or beautiful combinations of these blossoms. According to legend, a visitor leaving the islands who tosses their lei into the water and has it float on the current to the shore will someday come back to Hawaii
This is a pink dendrobium orchid lei resting on tropical monstera leaves, a common leafy plant found in the islands.
This colorful work of art was created using a combination of oil and dry brush methods. Watermark will not appear on purchased image.
