Description
I knew from the time I was a little girl that I was adopted but never found my birth Mother until just recently. It is bittersweet in that I never had an opportunity to meet her. By the time I found her, she was in a poor state of health and I didn't want to upset or agitate her by attempting a meeting.
When I found out last week that my birth Mom's health was failing rapidly, I wanted to create a work of art in her honor so I started work on this immediately. I wasn't sure what I wanted to paint, but this sort of just happened.
Barbara Jane (Edwards) Morrison passed away on September 21, 2019. She blessed me with with the gift of life and a wonderful family that I have come to love and cherish!
The stories of adoption span a multitude of circumstances and each one is unique. In my case I am extremely fortunate that it is both unique and wonderful. Thank you so very much, Sunny! I am blessed beyond measure to have found my birth family and to have them be such wonderful people. I don't think there is a bad one in the bunch! LOL! I found out that the family is including a copy of this painting and the essay I wrote as part of the memorial and her cremation so I will always be with her. I don't think I have ever been so moved. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart!!

I am so lucky to have a wonderful new family, yet at the same time it is bittersweet about my mother. It's been an emotional few days.
