Beautiful art and my favorite color!!!! π π₯ Love the texture and background as well. How do you create digital art like this? Do you start with a photograph or handpaint from scratch on a tablet or do you use an Adobe program? I am curious about this medium, as I am an iphoneographer learning how to turn my photos into art.
J Marielle replied:
Hi, Lisa -- First of all, thank you very much! Overall with 90%+ of my art I use the painting program part of Photoshop. There are a variety of brushes to be found there, and unlimited settings with them as far as flow, transparency, medium (oil, pastel, etc.), along with a variety of tools such as pallet knife, and so on. I have been doing this for 20 some years, so I actually handle a mouse better than a paint brush these days! LOL One of my secret tools is the clone stamp. Once you do one object and you want to repeat it, or create reflections, your possibilities are endless for adding more of the same, then you can select certain items, change the color or vibrancy and go on from there. The best part is the eraser if you make a mistake unlike when I worked with real oils and canvas for many years. As for people, I use photos, bring them into Photoshop and then work with a variety of filters and brushes to change or enhance backgrounds, "paint" similar skin tones onto them and the background, and so on. It took me a very long time to learn how to do it and most of my earlier work was hideous, but I am happy with most things I turn out these days. I get inspired by hikes, places I lived, neighbor's gardens and so on. Thanks so much for the follow, and I have followed you in return. See you around FAA!

Oh my Jane! I would just flip if there were purple poppies in my neck of the woods. Purple is my passion color, and your artwork says why! This is luscious loveliness, stunningly beautiful! I just love that dry brush method. The soft focus gives it such a dreamy look, just gorgeous all around! LF FB Tw Janet ππΈ
J Marielle replied:
Dear Janet -- Thank you so much for your lovely comments that brought a huge smile to my face. I would certainly grow these in the desert if I could, unfortunately they are more a dream than reality. I love working in the various shades of purples and blues, so I had a great time creating this. Thank you again, my dear friend, for always being so supportive of my art work. π
