Description
A majestic stand of date trees thrive in a desert oasis at China Ranch Date Farm, Tecopa, CA. This farm is in the middle of a desert badlands area and is only made possible because of the Amargosa River -- an underground river that comes to the surface periodically throughout this region. This is a true desert oasis as there is no other water to be found for literally mile after long mile.
If you are in the area of Death Valley, CA, it is definitely worth a short side trip to experience this magnificent date farm. It is located off Hwy 127 just east of Tecopa, CA, along the Old Spanish Trail road (the path of the Santa Fe Trail trade route as it made its way to California).
